Rucy's Vanity Waterproof Mascara Review



Mascaras have always been my go-to makeup. If I'm in a rush or just plain lazy, I always put on a light swipe of my favorite Mascara. There's just something about having crazy long and bold lashes that I love. In addition, I find it less hassle than putting on falsies. I'm horrible at applying falsies, the glue always messes it up! (Yes Fris blame it on the glue..)

Anyway, this is why I'm always hungry for Mascaras. (You know me, it's always going to come back with food). There are a lot of mascaras in the market. What I look for is first - it should be water proof, second - the specified category of lengthening lashes which differs in their wand. Now, Rucy's Vanity - a Korean cosmetics online brand here in the Philippines - offered to give me their product for a review. I actually have the haul here. This time, I will write a detailed review on their product - Rucy's Vanity Waterproof Mascara.


Since Rucy's Vanity is an online store, it's pretty much accessible to all internet users at http://rucysvanityph.com/. Also, a plus side is that it's really affordable with Php 180.00 pesos per piece. For a waterproof mascara, it's already a steal. The packaging, on the other hand, is a classic black which is a safe choice. I'm okay with this because it's simple and sleek. Moreover, the cap twists smoothly which makes it easy to use.


The mascara wand is very convenient with its thin bristles. This lets you apply the product smoothly without bumping to the skin around your eyes. Although, it does clump a little which can be fixed with a little bit of zigzag motion whilst applying.

RESULTS:


As you can see, it really lengthen and made my lashes look bolder. Although, it did have clumps which I'm a little disappointed at. However, this survived my cry fest while watching Weightlifting Kim Bok Joo which proves that it really is waterproof.

VERDICT:

This is a steal because it's made in Korea and is affordable. Most Korean cosmetics are really expensive so it's a breath of fresh air to encounter a cheaper one. The product is high quality and waterproof so thumbs up. The only problem is that it clumps a little, just apply in zigzag motion. I will buy this for sure!

Valentines Day, the blooming of love 'holiday' is fast approaching. Flowers, teddy bears, love letters are pretty much common this time of the year.

Its just that I think this day is way too over rated. I mean, its better if couples make every day special, you know, and not just wait for February 14th to shower each other tons of love, if you know what I mean. HAHA. Anyway, this day is usually dreaded by single individuals, the ones without the love of their life. However, let me tell you that even though you haven't met your partner yet or just broken up with your ex, you can still very well enjoy V-day. You should not let anything stop you from enjoying life.

So this post is for all the single people out there. This is how you enjoy Valentines day without your 'soulmate'.

1. Think of it as any other normal day to love yourself.

 Repeat after me: "Valentines is just another day.". Yes that's right. It doesn't hold any meaning. Na- da. Zilch. Not feeling better? Seeing all smoochy posts of your friends on social media? Then make February 14th, the day you love yourself and your loved ones more. Spend the day with yourself. Obviously. Atleast this way, you get to spend your time and money making yourself better. Right?


2. Have fun with your fam.

Family bonding is the best way to spend your Valentines as a single. It will not only bring joy but it will also bring your family closer and probably your home, homier. Plus, you get free food, right?

3. Check one thing off your bucketlist.

Because this day is going to be all about YOU, better do something that will make a difference in your life, right? Scratch one thing off your bucketlist. This should be something you're wanting to do for a long time. Cut your hair pixie style, dye it white, hike Mt. Everest, Go Vegan, Photo bomb couples, anything you want to do (as long as it isn't anything illegal). This will boost your ME time and make you feel better, too.

4. Treat yourself out on a date.

Who says couples are the only ones allowed to date? Of course, you can date yourself. Sounds funny but I'm not kidding. Treat yourself to a delicious gourmet. Go watch a movie. Ride a rollercoaster. Plus side, you get to spend your savings to yourself.

5. Lastly, don't feel pressured.

Relax and have fun being single. There's nothing in this world that should pressure you to rush love. Wait for it, eventually it will come to you. Or you can literally bump right in front of them just like a chick flick movie. Real romantic.

That's it! You don't really need to follow all of these tips. The thing is, Valentines day isn't just for couples so if you're single, don't feel lonely. Cheer up and smile. Do the things that make you happy. Remember, spread love not only on Valentines, but every day of your life.

My Shopping Experience With Uskoop


This article has been due for so long since I received the products about a month ago. But then, I wanted to share my Uskoop experience because I think that this will be helpful for online shoppers who want to know their options in buying from foreign countries.

Last October 2016, Nuffnang Philippines hosted a contest where in bloggers will post their thoughts on Uskoop PH titled: How to Shop Globally With Uskoop. Just a background, Uskoop is a shopping website where it accumulates all the fees (Import, shipping, handling, etc.) from US online merchants and deliver it straight at your doorstep here in the Philippines. Originally, I thought of buying items that are on my wish list in the post like makeup and camera but at the last minute I changed it to laptop which I felt like I needed more and earphones for my dad.

While I was browsing websites after websites (e.g. Amazon, Newegg, Walmart, Etc.), I found it hard to shop a lot of items because of the shipping fee. The shipping fee is not accumulated, there is a computation for every item you want to buy which makes it expensive in a way. For example, I found cheap makeup tools on Amazon which was worth about Php200.00 but then if you add the shipping fee, it will double the price. So this is what I'm a little disappointed about.



Nevertheless, I was still lucky enough to find an Acer Laptop that was below 15,000 with the shipping fee. Placing the order was quick, you just have to copy the link on your desired item and paste it on Uskoop, and then click buy. Although, my problem was on the over-the-counter payment with dragon pay since it kept on having an error (I had an excess purchase of about Php200). But thanks to the multiple payment method of Uskoop, I was able to find another way.

I got the products I bought about a month. I ordered the product back in November 23, 2016 and I received it on December 23, 2016. I don't have a picture of the tracking record since its already closed. My apologies. It took longer than I expected because I thought that shopping with Uskoop will be faster than actually ordering it on Amazon. Moving on, all of the items were in good condition, especially the laptop. (I don't have pictures because I was too excited to open it and forgot to take them, sorry hihi) It was wrapped nicely with fragile tape which is really great.

Verdict:

What I like about Uskoop is I don't need to go to the post office to claim my order. However, the shipping fee really sets me off. Nevertheless, it's almost the same as ordering in the US merchants themselves but I really enjoyed shopping with Uskoop. I guess I will buy again if it's cheaper in Uskoop. (some items are cheaper in Uskoop, check my entry at the link above).

Overall, I'm really grateful for Nuffnang Ph and Uskoop Ph because the items I ordered were like a Christmas gift to me. I would not have a blogging laptop if it weren't for them. So, thank you so much.

Miracle Romance: Chibi Rod Eyeliner Review


MOON POWER MAKEUP!

As a Sailor Moon fan, I'm quite intrigued with all innovations that include the show. Thus, when I heard about the Miracle Romance eyeliner, I was ecstatic. However, what stopped me though was how hard it is to find in the Philippines.

So you may ask, how I got my paws on this one? I won it at a raffle on Skinned PH - an online shop here in the Philippines. I was shocked, of course, because it's not everyday that I'm lucky enough to win something on the internet. But alas, I did. Of course, before reviewing this product the first thing I searched was the price. In Skinned PH, the Chibi Moon Rod and Heart Rod is priced at Php 950.


At first, I'm thinking this eyeliner should make my eyes look like freaking cleopatra seeing how pricey it was. Let's admit, there are tons of liquid eyeliners from different brands that are much cheaper. The packaging was beyond expectations. It's a collection if your a Sailor Moon fan. It fits your hand smoothly and if you hold it like the one I showed in the first picture, you can imagine yourself as one of the characters in the show before they transform. Geeky. I know. But I really love the show okay.


Moving on, the tip and application were really smooth. You can draw thin strokes if you want to have the subtle eyeliner. Honestly, this was the first time I tried a felt tip eyeliner so I was really shocked. This is great for beginners because the handle is long making it easier to glide on your eyelids. Everything on the packaging is perfect. You can remove the heart on top if you're traveling and instead bring it as a pen type which takes up lesser space.


The product, on the other hand, is okay just like a normal eyeliner. My problem was that it sometimes came of super light so you have to apply over and over again. This makes my application sometimes streaky. However my suggestion is store it standing up with the tip on the bottom so that the product will come off pigmented at first try. It's also waterproof which is great making it lasts longer.


However, it's easy to remove once you rub it. This will be a problem for me because I usually rub my eyes when it's itchy. I guess I will need to bring this eyeliner whenever I wear it for touch ups.

Verdict:

This product is great for Sailor Moon lovers. It gives fans and makeup lovers a common ground which is really great. However, for me it's not really worth Php 950. It's really expensive for an average eyeliner. If you're not a fan and just looking for an eyeliner that's worth your money, I feel like this is not for you. BUT, if you have an extra money to spare then by all means, go for it. You'll never really know unless you try, right?

Beauty Now and Next Lip Collection Review with Swatches


Christmas passed, but that doesn't mean gift giving is paused until next year. No, people still have occasions where in a special token is well appreciated. The product I'm going to review today is a perfect surprise for makeup lovers. I recently stumbled upon a great gift set in Watsons.  Most of us know that Watsons - a local drugstore which sells beauty,  medicine, food,  and many more - release perfectly affordable gift sets throughout the year. 

The Beauty Now and Next gift set contains 8 lippies all in all - 4 lipsticks and 4 lipglosses. It's very versatile because the colors have light pink to vampy red in it.  What's great about this set is it only costs 250 pesos. Certainly a cheap steal, right?  Plus,  if you prefer nudes,  they also have a set for those too. I bought this particular set because it has lipglosses.


The packaging of the lipsticks are not sturdy.  It kind of feels like a toy.  You have to be careful when twisting it because it gets stuck. In addition,  it does not have a great look all in all.


The lipglosses, on the other hand, I love.  It looks so cute with it's thin and small body. It's great to bring when traveling since it's very portable.  The twist cap is also very smooth unlike the packaging in the lipsticks.


For the product,  the lipsticks are quite the disappointment because it does not apply smoothly at all. The pigment is also not that high but you can work with it.  It's also not moisturizing and not drying too - just normal. However, it's matte and lasts about 5 hours. Not bad for the affordable price.  The lipglosses, on the other hand,  I can rave about them all day long.  I just love love how it feels on my lips. It's very moisturizing. Although,  it's not that pigmented. Both lippies are not transfer proof so that's a thing you can consider.

Verdict:

For 250 pesos, I can work with these lippies.  I love how affordable they are.  Although this set is not that above average, you can work with it.  If they release more colors in this set,  I will buy again because it's very affordable and I'm in love with their lipgloss. 

Prima Sassy Belle - Radiance White Hand & Body Cream Review


Whitening products are a constant rave in the beauty industry.  Tons and tons of variants and choices are seen in every beauty and skin care brand.  What makes it so successful?  That I don't know but the reasons why people buy these kinds of products is their own.  Personally,  I use whitening products to cure uneven skin tone caused by sun burn or natural causes. And I've tried a lot to maintain my fair skin,  however, I have yet to vouch for a successful whitening product.

Now, I'm intrigued with Prima Sassy Belle's product simply because I liked their Curvetrim juice. See review here.

I chose their Radiance White hand and body whitening lotion because I have darker arms than my legs, simply because I wear pants whenever I go outside. I'm hoping that this whitening lotion will be effective. The price of the lotion is Php 370 for 120 ml. It's pretty expensive at first glance than other brands.


Right off the bat,  you'll see that the packaging is for women because of the pink toned and girly theme.  The package is simple and pretty common for a lotion so I don't have any issue with it.  The cap is a twist type and is very easy to open.


Like any other lotion,  the product is white.  What I noticed was the consistency,  it's a little bit watery rather than creamy.


But, what I love about this is a small amount of product goes a long way.  (That's a plus if you're into saving) This is also the reason why I said it's on the expensive side at first glance. In addition,  the smell is SO good.  If you have this,  you don't need to wear perfume anymore because it lasts the whole day.

Results:
As you can see in the picture it did whiten a bit, but not enough.  So it's a little down for the whitening in my experience. On the other hand, it does moisturize your skin well. For me, this lotion focused more on delivering fragrant soft skin rather than achieving a fair skin. However, we never know because I haven't finished the bottle yet. Maybe this lotion does not have a fast whitening effect. Also, we have to include the fact that I usually walk under the sunlight.

 Verdict:
I think that this lotion is worth a try. It did soften my skin really well plus the smell, which is oh so good, really lasts the whole day. But regards to its whitening effect, I have yet to see better results. We all have different skin so maybe it will work faster on others.
