Starting Over is the Hardest Thing I Had to Do

Some people say that the hardest thing in life is giving your all and failing - having disappointing results. It's either you didn't pass an exam you stayed up late for or rather you courted someone in a very long time but it still came out as a one-sided love and, let's be honest, many many more. I'll admit, I used to think this way. You see, what's worse than having your hard earned work put to trash?

I used to think nothing.

What's the point of trying again when I have been rejected a couple of times? Is it even worth the effort?

These kinds of toxic questions have circulated my mind for a very long time. And you know what? It made me into this negative person I didn't know. And I didn't want to get to know, ever.  Because with this mentality, I sucked my dreams and threw it in archive, hidden in my mind - making time pass without ever trying to reach them.

What's the point of trying? I asked myself again. I kept thinking that I should just let it be. If it's for me, then it's for me, no amount of effort can change that.

This is wrong. I encourage you not to think this way.

Instead, think like this, I received another failure but I have to keep trying, trying until I reach my goal, my dream. Let me tell you the truth, there are a few lucky people who got success on their first try. What can you do? It's written in their fates. For the most of us, it's not. People work hard to get where they are. Do you think big businesses like Mcdonald's, Lazada or even famous celebrities like Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift, got to where they are without failing and starting over? No, I might not know them personally  but I know this because I grew up reading tons of news and articles about success stories.

Now, I'm going to tell you my story. I did blogging back in 2016, it was, what I can say, a booming popularity. In just a few months, I had quite a few brand deals accepted. I did earn money from my articles. I was happy, a bit overwhelmed, but ecstatic nevertheless. As months passed, my site did very well - even having first page searches on some topics. It was amazing and overwhelming at the same time. Self confidence and a love for writing were what I gained in those months. I was invited in events and even won contests on writing. To me, it was everything.

But life is very tricky.

I grew tired of posting new articles. There were months where I stopped updating. I wasn't answering my emails and I just grew really lazy. Back then I multi tasked, blogging and my work. What I did was focus on my work and in turn, forgot all about my hobby. It wasn't a failure of a proposal that got me, it was a failure in my actions that killed my happiness.

I forgot to manage my time really well. Because if you love something, you will make time for it even on your busiest days.

I was lost. Eventually, I had to shut down my blog. And because I was in disarray, I also closed my social media accounts - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. In my mind I was just giving myself a breather - from everything. It took me more than a year to realize how stupid I was of letting the opportunity I had to grow big.

And now here I am, starting over again - with a new website, social media accounts and my very first post.

The reason why starting over is a very hard thing to do is because it's hard to get the courage to stand up again - to do what you already did before.

And I encourage you to do just that.

If you love something, don't ever be afraid to start over again - to face failure and say "F*ck off".

I am Fris and welcome to my blog.

The Art of Waiting

The Art of Waiting

"Chase your dreams,

And chase it fast."

We live in a fast-paced environment where everything changes in a blink of an eye. This, in turn, force the living to cope and adapt with the ever-changing world. This is just a fact. In addition, it seems that some people use this as a way to live life too.

"We need to get our applications fast"

"Ugh okay I'm not promoted after 3 months of working real hard, I'll leave this job to go look for a higher position in a different company."

"He should like me back once I messaged him"

"Lose weight in a day"

"I need to finish this drama in a day"

"If I study for five minutes, I hope I'll pass"

These are just some examples of day to day sentences that, admit it, some people utter. Because of the way time flies so fast, people sometimes forget how to relax, take their time and wait for the fruits of their hardwork to grow.

We forget to savor the moments we cherish because we have gotten used to rushing things that it already became a habit.

Some things in life isn't supposed to be immediate. There are instances that requires long term hardwork and determination. Just like studying and going through stages of education before braving to face the world. Or getting to know the right girl or guy to spend the rest of your life with. These are some of the things that many people encounter in their lives.

So my dear readers, here's my advice to those of you that are always in a hurry, stop whatever your  doing and breathe. Take notice of the world around you, despite of all the horrors its been through, it's beautiful, no? Now, take time to internalize the things you need to stop living fast track.

Let me help you a little,

Stop chasing love, it'll come eventually.

you'll grasp your sweet graduation soon just focus on your lessons.

There are no shortcuts in losing weight, (unless you have the money to see a doctor) just pure hardwork and discipline will get you there.

And many more.

Balance is the key in life.

Stop living your life in shortcuts.

Some things are meant to be endured and savored longterm, and the fruits will be so much sweeter.

Important Life Lessons I Wish I've Learned Last Year

Turning a year older can signify many different things in each one of us. The great thing about life is we all have stories of our own, and in each adventures, lies our own little show in which we are the
starring cast. And because we are the main character of our own life, we choose how we live. Unfortunately, sometimes we overdo it and eventually stumble from a mistake or two.

I just turned 21 years old last September 10 and it's a great feeling to be able to say that I've been in this world for more than two decades. (Plus one, lol) I've reflected on a lot of things and thought why not share the important life lessons I've learned from not only my experiences but from other people as well. And maybe, just maybe I'll be able to avoid all the troubles I've encountered these past years.

Here are the life lessons I wish I knew and learned before so that I could have done something in my life...(Plus, wish you could also learn from these, too)

Don't Excuse Your Way To Your Goals
I have done this a couple of times. Before I started blogging and shooting videos for Youtube, I would always say to myself that I will start once I've bought a grand camera, fast laptop and good lighting. But you know what? These are just my excuses not to do it because I was too lazy to woman up and instead I just wished for it by not doing something about it. And now, I'm so happy that I started with my Asus Zenfone 5 and our home computer because at least I'm already one step ahead from where I was before. So guys, your goals may seem far away now, but once you start to work hard and have determination to reach it, I promise it will be worth your time.

There's only one Flash in the universe, and he is not you.
Now going back to my life lesson #1 which is about excuses, this is also part of our excuses sometimes. Nah, we don't want to exercise because we're not losing weight after one week. Too tired to go to school because I still have four to five years left. And so on and so on. Boy, we were so in rush with things that we sometimes forget that success do take time. Be patient and just do your thing. Eventually, you'll get there. And once you do, it will be the greatest moment and achievement in your life. (At least that's what I think it will be since I'm still getting there)

Shape negativity into beauty.
I have encountered tons of hate and negativity in my 21 years. And I think everyone can relate to this. Not everyone will be pleased at you. Some people will turn your bright moments into storm. BUT, don't fret, relax. "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Right? Do not be swayed by hate and at the same time, do not fill your heart with vengeance and all the things that will make you feel bad. Instead, just wait for karma to hit them back. Plus, be a better person by focusing on the things that will make your life better.

Always think before you act because one wrong move can cost you big.
There will be times that we just act spontaneously and fast. At times, it will turn into a memorable experience. However, in my experience, spontaneous and rash decisions can turn into a nightmare you can't get rid of. So just to be safe, it doesn't hurt to just think before you act. Weigh down the pros and cons of what you're going to do before actually doing it. Just remember: actions do speak loud and when you do something that will turn out bad, it can haunt you for the rest of your life.

Don't let the scare of first impressions stop you from socializing.
Always remember: first impressions only last long if the person don't get to know you.
Okay, so I have not mastered the art of socializing yet. If you introduce yourself to me, I will probably just smile at you. But you know what? I realized that I have nothing to be scared of. Having a conversation with someone I barely know can be fun. (but do watch out cause some people might mean you harm) I met some people lately, and I enjoyed getting to know them. Turning acquaintances into friends can be horrid for me before since I'm really awkward to strangers but now I feel like I'm getting better in carrying conversations especially with people who have same interests. Be young and meet people, have mind soothing conversations with them and don't ever carry the burden of first impressions because there's more to a person than just outside appearances.

Give time to people who would do the same for you.
Don't ever waste your precious time for others who just take you for granted. Each one of us is special in our own way and nobody has the privilege to use you because they're bored or treat you less than how you care for them. I've seen a lot of people endure this, I've also been a victim of it. Learn to say "it stops now" and start to exclude them from your life. There will be people who will stick out for you, listen to your problems and appreciate you. They're just like gems, rare to find but worth it.

And lastly,

The life you have is your own, live it the way you want it.
No matter what people say to you or how they hate what you're doing, as long as you know for yourself that it's right and you want it, just go for it. After all, we all have our own lives and we're the ones who control it, don't let others dictate it for you. Be your own.

There will be a lot more life lessons since I'm still young, but these are important and relevant for me. And I'm looking forward to knowing more soon.

Love,
