3 Steps To Exfoliate Your Lips

Don't you guys hate it when your matte lipsticks emphasize the flaws of your lips? Whether it's drying or not exfoliated enough that you can see cracks everywhere. It's just a horrifying experience that I can relate to. So I have a solution which I hope will work for you guys as it worked for me. This can be done every day or every other day depends on how dry your lips are.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a professional, this is just what I do with my lips, so do this at your own risk.)
This can be done as a night or day regimen since all of the products can be used as a lip balm anyway.

1.GENTLY Brush your lips with a soft, clean toothbrush.
-  This will remove the dry skin from your lips. Be sure to buy a soft toothbrush to avoid irritation in your lips. AND I will emphasize again, brush your lips GENTLY. If you don't, your lips might bleed and it's a nasty experience. Also, you will not use any toothpaste or soap, just a clean toothbrush. A suggestion I would share is have a brush solely for your lips.

2. Apply any of the following products overnight or before you start your day:
(Choose only one)

- Petroleum Jelly
I use Apollo brand which is available at almost every drugstore nation wide. (You can use other brands as well like Vaseline) This is not my go-to product whenever I do this routine but this can also be used as a moisturizer. It prevents cracking of the skin which is usually what happens for dry lips. I don't use this as much for my lips since I prefer using this whenever I have small scratches and burns since this is really effective. Anyways, I love this product.

- Moisturizing Lip Balm (E.g. Maybelline Baby Lips, Chapstick, EOS)
I'm using Maybelline Baby Lips Lipbalm which I reviewed right here. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCT. This is my favorite lip balm E V E R. This is a tinted lip balm which can really moisturize your lips like crazy. If you want a more detailed review I have it posted.

- Nivea Creme
Like Apollo petoleum jelly, this is also a multi purpose product. It can moisturize almost anything and can be used as a make-up remover at the same time. PLUS, it's also older than me which is a great evidence that this product really is good. For a detailed review, I have it posted right here. If you're going to use this during the day, be sure to use a small amount because the consistency of this product is really thick.

3. Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.
- Be sure to drink lots of water so as to prevent your lips from drying. If you're dehydrated, it's only natural for your lips to start drying up even after moisturizing it overnight. SO THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT for maintenance.

I hope this routine works for you guys!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation Review

I'm so freaking tired of my oily skin. I'm not even kidding. My face gets oily even after I wash my face. As such, I need products that can effectively mattify my skin so that I would not worry about looking haggard all day long. This is where Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation comes in. I actually did not buy this, my sister gave it to me since she doesn't use it anymore. She bought this a long time ago so I don't know if this is still available here in the Philippines. It was not available the last time I checked at department stores BUT you can still browse it at the Maybelline website. (Here's the link: https://www.maybelline.com/face-makeup/foundation/dream-matte-mousse-foundation) Anyway, I tested it out. It has a promising product description from Maybelline. I also searched reviews on this and most of them testified that this is a great product. And before long, here I am posting my own review.

The packaging is real classy. I love it! The product is encased in a small glass jar (Idk how it's called). Moreover, It's travel friendly because it can fit snugly at your make up pouch. Although, you should be careful because it might break if it falls really hard.

You'll see and feel a clump, creamy powder foundation inside. For me, it feels like in between powder and liquid foundation. It's super creamy and soft that it actually feels nice on the skin. I have mine in the color of light classic ivory. I know that Maybelline offers wide range of colors so be sure to check it out.

This is how it looks at my skin. When you put it on, it'll clump a little because of its powder-ish texture. It's very easy to blend since it's sooo SOFT. It feels really nice on the skin.

Maybelline Product Description:
Since I don't have the box, I'll just copy what's on the website.
Stay matte for 16 hours with this lightweight, medium-to-full coverage formula. Features a shine-free finish that doesn't feel heavy.

The product offers medium to perfect coverage. As you can see, it did mattified my skin. Plus, it removed my blemishes including my extreme under eye circles. Moreover, my skin did brightened and it looked fresh. You don't need any pressed or translucent powder to finish your look since it's already matte. I'm sorry though since I forgot to snap a time photo for you guys to see how long it lasts. Based on my experience, mine lasted for at least 3-4 hours since I have extreme case of oily skin. It did not last for 16 hours as said in the product description.

This is how you apply it:

Just swipe it through your face and then blend it using your fingers, brush or beauty blender. I personally recommend for you to just use a brush since I'm lazy and brushes can blend products faster in my opinion. Warning: Do not use a loooot since your face will look super white.

Verdict:

I loooove this product because it does mattify my skin plus it has a classy packaging. I remembered that this costs for about 350-450 pesos (I'm not sure though). My only negative comment about this is my skin started to get oily after about 3-4 hours. But overall, if I see this available I would still buy it.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Review

Hi there! So tonight I'll write about my favorite lip balm......THE Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm.

I'm ADDICTED to this product. This is actually my secret in having a natural looking reddish lip all day. I'm not even kidding, some of my friends ask me if I'm wearing lipstick because of the color of my lips.

So this is how it looks like:

Product Description: (From Maybelline website)

Baby Lips moisturizing lip balm moisturizes lips or a full eight hours. Lips are visibly renewed after one week.

Since I've bought this a long time ago, I just researched the product description at the website. Although, the packaging is a bit different there. Anyway, Maybelline offers a wide range of selections in its baby lips series. It's actually a tinted lip balm but I think they also offer a clear lip balm. I bought two colors: Cherry Kiss and Berry Crush. I picked two colors to have variation since I prefer balms over lipsticks. Plus, lip balms are much more affordable than lipsticks. This costs 89 pesos only and you can substitute it as a lipstick since it's tinted. Moreover, you can find this in almost anywhere. They have it on Watsons and supermarkets. On the other hand, the product packaging is a common look for a lip balm. There's nothing unique about this except for the baby lips font which is gigantic. The first thing you'll see is the name which is actually what attracted me in the first place. So kudos to Maybelline.

The colors are not much different. Cherry kiss is just a tad bit lighter and more orangish than berry crush. When you put it on your lips, it actually shines a bit. It's far from matte. HOWEVER, I noticed that after 2-3 hours the color and shine actually fades away leaving a soft plump pinkish/ reddish natural looking lips. I don't know if this is a plus to you guys, but I find this really appealing. Moreover, it really moisturizes your lips. I also apply this every night after I exfoliate my lips to have an overnight moisturizing effect. However, I don't recommend this if you're going to an event and you have a theme look like if you're going to go nude or maroon. BUT, you can always buy the clear one (I'm not sure if they have but I think I remember seeing one, I'm not sure) and apply it before you put on your lip liner and lipstick to moisturize your lips.

Verdict:

I LOOOVE this. It actually relates to its name "Baby Lips" since it leaves your lips moisturized and soft making it like that of a baby's. I strongly recommend this. If you guys prefer lipsticks when you go out, you can just use this as a nightly beauty regimen. This is very affordable for only 89 pesos  and it lasts long just don't lose it (HAHA). I remembered losing one back in high school. (also a Maybelline lip balm)
