Don Soriano's Break Free: 8 principles to get from employee to employer in 3 years or less gives a whole different meaning to giving others life - changing lessons.

The one unique thing about this book is that it's a portable, convenient and an inspiring short read. It has a total of 81 pages with detailed and interesting principles on how you can break free from your bad habits. What I like about this book is that it's very detailed, the author showed a step by step guide on how you can be successful. I feel like it's very helpful to me, especially because I haven't experienced a lot in life yet. Therefore, I'm not used to failures in such a grandeur and so I don't know what path to take for me to avoid massive disappointments. Well, this book really explain what you should and shouldn't do and it portrayed it in a way that you can agree to each point. There are times in the book where I would go, I haven't thought of that but that's a good point and so I'm learning with every flip of a page.

The 8 principles on the other hand, looks self explanatory but then when he explained, he gave informative examples which fits the lessons perfectly. He even gave illustrations and equations on how you can save money which is very helpful for people who aren't too keen on accounting their money (including me). This is a very influential book because it lets you learn things you thought you knew but really haven't scratched the surface yet.

Because I was so affected by this book, I decided to compile short quotes from each principles that hit me hard. (let this be a quick sneak peek of the book for you because I don't want to spoil too much)

1. "Being emotional allows smart people to make dumb decisions."

2. "The best investment is investing yourself through continuous self- development."

3. " If you don't sacrifice a little in the short term, you'll suffer a lot in the long term."

4. " You will never achieve what you set out to do just by yourself"

5. " You're positioned to fail because you have yourself at a point of disadvantage."

6.  "Where we spend our time and who we spend it has a significant effect on who we become."

7.  " Real financial freedom is not about the money rather the mindset that can bring in money, preserve wealth and grow it."

8. "You are stopping you. If you learn to master yourself, you can master the world."
 - My personal favorite because I can relate 100%. I've always delayed what I wanted to do just like what I did with my blog. I've wanted to started a blog 2 years ago but I didn't because I've always doubted myself and now here I am, my blog is almost in its anniversary and at about 50 + thousand views. - I couldn't be happier.

I originally wanted to add information to the eight quotes I posted but then I thought that it wouldn't do justice to Don Soriano's explanation in his book. As an avid reader, for me Break Free is a book worth your time  and money especially if you're in the time in your life wherein you're confused on what to do in your future. Also, to top it off, it's based from his experience - failures and success which he showed in the book. Moreover, his emotions on each experience were well expressed. You could feel his change throughout the book. And at the end, it makes you wonder about how you're doing in your life right now. For me, being aware of where you are right now,  or whether you are living more than you can afford and such,  can really help a long way. Really, this is a shortcut guide to success.

Friends, if you want to get a copy (and I think you should) this book is worth Php 300.00 and it can be bought at: www.facebook.com/iamdonsoriano. So far, this hasn't been published in stores yet so you can find a copy by contacting Don Soriano himself.

P.S. While you're at it, you can ask him for advice, too. ;)

The Art of Waiting

The Art of Waiting

"Chase your dreams,

And chase it fast."

We live in a fast-paced environment where everything changes in a blink of an eye. This, in turn, force the living to cope and adapt with the ever-changing world. This is just a fact. In addition, it seems that some people use this as a way to live life too.

"We need to get our applications fast"

"Ugh okay I'm not promoted after 3 months of working real hard, I'll leave this job to go look for a higher position in a different company."

"He should like me back once I messaged him"

"Lose weight in a day"

"I need to finish this drama in a day"

"If I study for five minutes, I hope I'll pass"

These are just some examples of day to day sentences that, admit it, some people utter. Because of the way time flies so fast, people sometimes forget how to relax, take their time and wait for the fruits of their hardwork to grow.

We forget to savor the moments we cherish because we have gotten used to rushing things that it already became a habit.

Some things in life isn't supposed to be immediate. There are instances that requires long term hardwork and determination. Just like studying and going through stages of education before braving to face the world. Or getting to know the right girl or guy to spend the rest of your life with. These are some of the things that many people encounter in their lives.

So my dear readers, here's my advice to those of you that are always in a hurry, stop whatever your  doing and breathe. Take notice of the world around you, despite of all the horrors its been through, it's beautiful, no? Now, take time to internalize the things you need to stop living fast track.

Let me help you a little,

Stop chasing love, it'll come eventually.

you'll grasp your sweet graduation soon just focus on your lessons.

There are no shortcuts in losing weight, (unless you have the money to see a doctor) just pure hardwork and discipline will get you there.

And many more.

Balance is the key in life.

Stop living your life in shortcuts.

Some things are meant to be endured and savored longterm, and the fruits will be so much sweeter.

6 Ways To A Goodmorning!

Hearing the sweet melody of the birds, she gracefully woke up in the beautiful morning. Seeing the sun streaks passing through the window, she smiled knowing it would be a great day ahead.

The scenario I painted is a very common notion of a "Goodmorning". This is also a popular scene in Disney princess movies. However, it doesn't mean it really happens in real life. This is just one of those expectations versus reality kind of thing. SAD BUT TRUE.

That doesn't mean one can't have this "goodmorning" scene in their lives. Although, no one can't really copy this point blank, unless you already have? Anyway, waking up grouchy and sleepy every morning can be tiresome. So here are my suggestions on how you can be motivated and happy to be up early every single day!

Don't Be An Owl.
In other words, sleep early. Yes, this is a very repetitive and common advice ya-da ya-da. But you see, sleeping late and waking up early in the morning will just tire you throughout the day due to the fact that you lack sleep. Ever wondered why you get sleepy in the middle of the day, this is the reason why. Plus, if you have a wonderful dream, it can get cut in the middle which will be frustrating. Just kidding, but that happens too.

Have That Peaceful Alarm.
Ahh, the most irritating blunder in our wonderful wonderful sleep. Don't you just hate being woken up by a shrill noise? That ringing sound is the worst LSS ever. But, the problem is some people can't live without an alarm or they won't wake up in time. Thus, don't trash it completely. Do have an alarm that has a calm and serene sound so as you can wake up not being jolted by a ringing sound. If you have a problem with soft alarms, add a flair then set it with your favorite song. Why not sing your heart out waking up, right?

Eat Your Eggs.
Well, not just eggs. HAHA. You can prepare any breakfast of your choice as long as it is enough to give you tons of energy. DO NOT eat a small amount of food here, it is a necessity (atleast for me) to munch a lot. Besides, you'll burn it anyway. (If you're not sedentary all day). If you're having a problem in finding what to eat, search for healthy breakfast recipes and follow those.

Wear Your Confi-Dress.
Apologies for the bad title. lol. Be the fashion guru of your life. Wear something that you'll be comfortable and confident in. Find clothes that are appropriately you. If you're not comfortable with the trend, the don't follow it because chances are if you fit into what you don't like, it will just ruin your day.

Say Yes To Management.
Before being bombarded with the tasks you need to do (believe me this can dampen your positive morning), jot down all of it in a paper or your phone. As such, you will not be rushed and buried in worry and deadlines. Plus, you can enjoy your morning leisurely without any concern about your time.

Plus for Positive Thoughts.
There are times that people focus on negativity. Thinking about doubts, worse expectations and failures are just the common lingering concerns. However, all of these are wrong. If a bad experience has already happened, do not put your attention in it. Get through by changing your future and making it a life lesson. Thus, last but not the least, it is important to spend your mornings thinking of positive thoughts. This will slay all your pessimistic views.

Treasure all these steps and I hope you all have a goodmorning!
